Renminbi Payments: A Global Perspective (March 2017)

The fourth annual FImetrix RMB Global Perspective report is a compilation of our regional findings regarding the RMB market. As the utilization of the RMB continues to grow globally, competition among providers of transaction services in the currency will only increase. A number of banks, both Chinese and non-Chinese, are actively marketing themselves to become a provider of RMB transaction services. This report provides an overview of the competitive landscape in 2017.

2017 Distinguished Providers in Global Transaction Banking:

FImetrix announces the 5th annual "Distinguished Provider" accolade. This recognition category was created from interviews with Senior Level Executives at 650 banks in 98 countries across 6 regions - Asia/Pacific Rim, Central & Eastern Europe, Latin America, Middle East, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Western Europe/North America. The banks included in the survey represent the largest banks within their respective country, and they maintain significant cross-border cash and trade activity.

Market Issues 2017

FImetrix began its annual survey of the current business environment in the transaction services industry after the financial crisis of 2008. Now in its ninth year, Market Issues 2017 addresses several of the topics covered in its inaugural study, as well as new questions generated by trends in the industry. In particular this year, we explored cyber security and the potential need for support from provider banks in assisting banks with meeting the new security standards being implemented by SWIFT.
